Subsistence minimum in Kazakhstan increased by 12% during the year
According to the results of January 2020, the subsistence minimum in Kazakhstan amounted to 30 thousand tenge ($79.5), which is 11.6% more than a year earlier. This is reported on February 7 by the analytical portal Finrom with reference to the data of the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic. In annual terms, the cost of goods and services in Kazakhstan increased by 5.6%. Food products increased by 9.2%, non-food products by 5.2%, services by 1.4%. Among the regions of Kazakhstan, the largest subsistence minimum was recorded in Mangistau region 35.4 thousand tenge ($94), Nur Sultan 33.5 thousand tenge ($89) and Almaty 33.1 thousand tenge ($88). According to the news agency, on January 30, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan Exchange Nurymbetov said that a step-by-step increase in the minimum wage will be launched in the republic.
