Parliament meetings suspended in Uzbekistan

Events in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan were cancelled due to the spread of coronavirus, the press service of the lower house of Parliament reported on March 18. The government hour, which was scheduled for 7 April, is also cancelled. At the same time, the work of the parliamentary corps on draft laws continues online. In addition, the deputies sent a request to the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The appeal notes that parents are forced to take sick leave due to the introduction of quarantine in educational organizations. Deputies wondered whether the wages of such workers were maintained. It should be noted that the number of people infected with coronavirus in Uzbekistan increased to 13. Over the past 24 hours, doctors have identified two infected people from Istanbul and Dubai.
