China will create 100 thousand COVID-19 testing laboratories across the country

China intends to continue to increase the pace of testing people for a new coronavirus, according to a new work plan issued by the State Council of the PRC, Xinhua News Agency reported on August 31. Only 100 thousand public testing laboratories for COVID-19 will be created throughout the country. Each will be able to process up to 10 thousand samples of biological material per day. This is what the new document issued by the State Council of the PRC together with the center for the prevention and fight against COVID-19 says. The plan specifically emphasizes the importance of promoting the development of third-party laboratories in accordance with laws allowing them to participate in testing through public procurement. The country will be divided into eight counties to increase testing capabilities, with each county able to process 500,000 to 700,000 samples each day. According to the plan, these measures will help the country achieve the goal of conducting coronavirus tests for all Chinese residents within five to seven days.
