Chinese authorities will send $117.1 million to flood control in a number of provinces
China allocated 800 million yuan (about $117.1 million) in cash to support agricultural production and flood control, the Ministry of Finance of China reported on September 3. The funds will be used to rehabilitate water-damaged sanitation facilities and infrastructure, as well as agricultural, livestock and fishing industries in 11 flood-affected provinces of the country. This includes the provinces of Anhui and Sichuan, as well as the city of central subordination to Chongqing in the south-west of the country, according to the official website of the ministry. On September 1, the country lifted the IV flood response level in the Yangtze River basin after the water level here fell below the dangerous level. Thus ended 63 days of emergency response, which began on July 2.
