U.S. Navy plane followed toward Russian facilities in Syria
A Russian CCS fighter was lifted into the air to identify an aerial target heading towards Russian targets in Syria. The object turned out to be a U.S. military aircraft, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on April 20. A Russian fighter took off on April 19 from Khmeimim airbase. After approaching an aerial target, he identified her as a U.S. Navy plane, before taking him on escort. After the American reconnaissance aircraft changed course, the Russian fighter aircraft returned to base. The flight took place in strict compliance with international rules, the Defense Ministry stressed.
