WTO CEO Robert Azeved resigns - mass media

The Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Robert Azeved, plans to leave his post before his term expires in September 2021. This is reported by Bloomberg on May 13 with reference to sources. According to the agency, representatives of WTO member countries have already been informed of its decision by the still-active head of WTO. Until the formal end of Azevedu's term as CEO, the WTO will be headed by the interim head of the organization. Among the applicants are four of his deputies Alan Wolf (USA), And Xiaochjun (China), Yons Frederick Aga (Nigeria) and Carl Browner (Germany). We remind that Robert Carvalho di Azeveda (Brazil) has been the CEO of the WTO since 2013. In 2017, Azeveda was re-elected for a re-term expiring in September 2021.
