The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs accused a journalist of falsely calling the police
Journalist of the Georgian television channel Pirveli made a false call to the police. This information was distributed on July 9 by the Department of Strategic Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. According to the agency, a call was received on the phone of the emergency service 112, which spoke of a fight. The police who arrived at the address were met by journalist Tamta Dolendzhashvili, who said that it was a false call. According to the representative of the channel, she checked how quickly law enforcement officers would respond. Dolendzhashvili decided to conduct such an experiment in connection with the resonance in the case of the death after the fight of the Georgian 19-year-old football player Georgy Shakarashvili. Then the police could not come to call his friend for a long time. If we do not talk about civil liability and elementary media standards, when any citizen makes a false call, he should at least realize that at this time someone else may really need urgent assistance, according to a publication from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is worth noting that the investigators conducting the Shakarashvili case since June 22, when the body of the football player was found, did not establish the cause of his death.
